As many of you know, in the months leading up to now, MS4SF had been planning a series of nationally coordinated actions for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. In response to the global pandemic, we took pause to reflect on how we could most meaningfully build community and offer hope during an uncertain and scary time.
We hope the video message does just that. This video unites us as a medical student community and features the perspectives and voices of students all over the country.
We know that climate change poses formidable challenges and that it can be daunting to take action alone. In medicine, we see our scariest problems are most effectively solved using teamwork. It was from this very framework that we were inspired to build this national community of medical students uniting to take action on climate for health and for our future patients.
In our message, we emphasize that in times of crisis, the power of community and collaboration can help us face our scariest and most pressing challenges. We urge viewers to vote for climate champions, and to vote considering health, hope, and humanity this fall.
